One tarot reading for the week
This week we dive back into the tarot to see what the cards are saying. Each card has its own individual meaning, but each can also feed into the larger energies at work. Since nothing happens in a vacuum, we always use the entire scattering or the way in which all cards are laid out in a reading in the tarot in order to guess more than the individual meanings of the cards.
There were a few different themes in this week’s reading. The first few cards drawn were turned face down, indicating tension. However, this resolves itself as the week progresses. On Thursday the cards show problems again, but Friday offers a chance to put things right. Overall, this week challenges us to take risks, see things differently, and be flexible.
Saturday May 14th
“Ten of Wands Reversed is all about justification, winning fortune and taking big risks that pay off.”
If you are unsure about a certain course of action, you cannot be sure that you will be successful. But if you don’t try, you’ll always be amazed. Can you live with that? Only you can say for sure. As they say, “nothing ventured, nothing gained”.
Sunday May 15th
“The Star Reversed is a card that embodies a paradigm shift, like finding out your idols aren’t what they seem.”
It’s best not to put all your eggs in one basket, so to speak, and while the star is a card of hope, seeing it upside down can mean that some of that hope was probably out of place. The consequences of this misstep can be different. It can be as simple as realizing that you’ve put someone on a pedestal they don’t deserve. Of course, it can also mean that you realize that you have been misled and that true north is deviating in a different, completely different direction.
Monday, May 16th
“King of Cups Reversed: Let your emotions make decisions for you, be too caught up in the moment to think about the consequences, an abuse of authority or power over someone.”
The King of Cups has learned every lesson his suit has to teach, and as such he is not usually one to lose control of his emotions. In fact, he has to go through an extreme situation for this. Acting when you know better takes effort. That will be your challenge today. You have everything you need to make a move, but you should be aware that it is not without consequences and you also have everything you need to walk away.
Tuesday May 17th

This is a day for growth and connection. You may find a breakthrough in a relationship, or you may develop a new partnership or friendship. Take the time and try to connect today; you never know what may come of it.
Wednesday May 18th
“The Queen of Coins is a matriarch, a protector, someone who can watch over you and keep you in line.”
This is a good day to lean on people who have been there for you in the past. If there’s someone you’ve lost contact with but have thought about reaching out, this could be a good time. It’s not a bad idea to trust someone and lighten your own burden by sharing concerns or secrets.
Thursday May 19th
“Justice Reversed is warning us that we may be on the losing side today.”
Justice is a bit self-explanatory. It’s a map of cosmic and divine morality to get what’s coming your way, both good and bad. Here, in an inverted position, it could be a warning that things could go wrong today. You may feel particularly unfair, or it may seem like the world is after you. Try to remind yourself that this will pass.
Friday May 20th
